Following the birth of the very first version of the VALORANT Champions Tour, Riot Games committed a whopping $1,000,000 to a new off-season event in the esports scene, making for some exciting VALORANT odds.
As the number one seeded team from Europe, Acend where always a respectable favourite ahead of this event. However, they weren’t considered ahead of other favourite teams such as Sentinels, who had a brief moment of dominance in the opening season.
Other teams who were also favoured were Team Liquid and Gambit Esports.
Despite the odds, Acend proved that with teamwork and clever map picks, victory is only a few clutch rounds away.
They proved this in their epic 3-2 Grand Final win against Gambit which made this first iteration of VALORANT Champions a massive success.

With the dawning of the 2022 VCT season, a new super-team was forged over in South America – LOUD. Throughout the entire season, they had established a budding rivalry with one of the best VALORANT teams, OpTic Gaming from North America.
Despite a strong season, they entered their attempt at becoming 2022 VALORANT Champions winners after finishing 11-12th at VCT Stage 2 Masters Copenhagen.
Anyways, starting in the group, they fell short against OpTic Gaming, bouncing back to earn their spot in the Playoffs. Here, they swept away the competition including beating OpTic twice, in the Upper Bracket Final and in the 3-1 Grand Final to be crowned 2022 VALORANT Champions winners.
The VALORANT Champions 2022 winners were the last players to win the event outside of the VCT Partner League system.

- Alexander “jawgemo” Mor

The Evil Geniuses story of becoming VALORANT Champions Winners is ridiculous. Following a controversial roster mania, with the NA organization joining the Americas and signing a 10-man roster, the team started flat in the season.
They maintained this performance for the majority of the year, barely squeaking by to qualify for VALORANT Champions thanks to MIBR miraculously taking down 100 Thieves.
Following a second-place finish at VCT Masters Tokyo, EG were suddenly favourites for Champions. They exacted this fate with an exemplary level of teamwork between some of the best VALORANT players, leading to a historic victory. Apart from being the first NA team to join the list of VALORANT Champions Winners, it saw the first-ever female esports coach, Christine “potter” Chi, winning a trophy.
